WAZAN IHSAN VISIT: EXTENDING CARE TO UPM STUDENT AFFECTED BY TRAGEDY

JOHOR, August 6 – Compassion for student welfare remains a core priority at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Demonstrating proactive care, the Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Infaq (WAZAN) UPM—in collaboration with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Office, the Student Affairs Division (BHEP), and welfare-led Responsibility Centres (PTj)—conducted a special Ihsan Visit to Johor to assist a UPM student whose family home was damaged in a fire.

Immediate Relief for Educational Continuity Representing WAZAN UPM was the Head of Zakat and Asnaf Development Section, Ms. Maznur Nazila Moin, alongside the Head of BHEP UPM. To alleviate the immediate financial and emotional strain on the student, WAZAN UPM presented a total aid allocation of RM3,000, which includes:

• RM500: Emergency Assistance for urgent living necessities.

• RM2,500: Laptop Contribution to replace damaged study equipment and ensure uninterrupted learning.

Zakat Trust Safeguarding Student Well-being This rapid disbursement of funds enables the student to regain stability and resume academic activities without digital barriers. It stands as clear proof that zakat funds entrusted by contributors are managed with high accountability, directly reaching eligible beneficiaries (asnaf) during critical moments of need.
