MAIWP DONATES TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND TO HELP FEDERAL TERRITORY STUDENTS IN UPM

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 SEPT - The Islamic Religious Council of the Federal Territory (MAIWP) contributed to the corporate zakat trust fund for the purpose of making the food aid program for asnaf students at UPM a success.

The funds worth RM200 thousand donated are intended to help UPM students from the Federal Territory (WP) of Kuala Lumpur, WP Putrajaya, WP Labuan who are in need. This MAIWP contribution was handed over to the Director of WAZAN at the MAIWP office here last week.
 

According to WAZAN Director, Prof. Associate Dr. Mohd Daud Awang, "this donation is intended to help regional students who are among the asnaf at UPM to eat, WAZAN often receives complaints from students who need help with food while continuing their studies on campus", he said when asked in an interview at the WAZAN office .

"Students who will enter the campus in this latest semester are in dire need of help since students have been allowed to return to campus completely starting this semester", according to him.

WAZAN will work together with the Student Affairs Division (BHEP) to help students through the use of Putra Vouchers which will be launched soon.

"WAZAN will look at the use of Putra Vouchers developed by the Information and Communication Development Center (IDeC) in collaboration with BHEP to provide assistance in the form of vouchers to students", he said.
