SERDANG, 2025 – The Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Infaq (WAZAN), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) remains committed to strengthening waqf-based facility development through the implementation of six waqf facility projects throughout 2025, benefiting both the university community and the surrounding public.

Among the key projects undertaken is the Putra Warisan Budi Tower Clock Project, which serves as a symbol of benevolence and the continuity of waqf contributions at UPM. In addition, the overall upgrading of Surau Al-Madrasah Al-Muflihah, UPM Farm Quarters 1 was carried out to provide a more comfortable and conducive space for worship for the local residents.

In efforts to empower Islamic institutions on campus, WAZAN also implemented the Upgrading Project of Dewan Al-Khawarizmi, University Islamic Centre, which functions as a hub for scholarly and spiritual programs. Additionally, the purchase and installation of waqf fund banners at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) were carried out as a medium to promote and encourage the university community and public to participate in waqf.

Furthermore, the Upgrading Project of the Faculty of Science Surau was realized to enhance worship facilities for faculty members, while renovation projects at the Department of Social and Community Services, HSAAS were carried out to support the welfare and community service needs of the hospital.

The implementation of all these projects reflects the role of waqf as an instrument of sustainable development that not only preserves the welfare of the ummah but also contributes to the well-being of educational and healthcare institutions. WAZAN expresses its highest appreciation to all waqf contributors for their continuous support in advancing the waqf agenda for the benefit of all.
