DOES THE ZAKAT DEDUCTION OF YOUR INCOME NEED TO BE ADDED?

 

Zakat worship is one of the pillars of Islam that must be taken seriously by Muslims. It is for the sake of fulfilling our responsibility to the command of Allah SWT that it can be carried out continuously (istiqamah).

Issuing zakat gradually can be identified as an effective medium to be able to perform worship continuously. This installment payment is referred to based on the hadith narrated by "Abu Daud: From Ali, he said, Al Abbas asked the Prophet SAW to prioritize the collection of zakat before reaching the haul. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gave relief in that regard.

In Malaysia, this method is approved by the Fatwa Council in line with the benefit and welfare of Muslims. Monthly installment payments have already been practiced by most of the community in Malaysia.

WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO ADD THE MONTHLY ZAKAT CONTRIBUTION?

- Income and property increase

- Paying zakat with the right amount

- Fulfilling other people's rights that are on our income

- Cleaning and nourishing our property

- Double blessings when paying zakat

The meaning of the hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari states that delayed zakat is considered a debt to God.

Qadha Zakat is not subject to any multiples but if we pay more than the obligatory rate of zakat then the person will receive the reward of tatowwu' (sacrifice for religion)

The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and knowing. (Al-Baqarah : 261)
