UPM KNOWLEDGE WAQF PROJECT 2025: UPM MOSQUE PA SYSTEM & HSAAS AMBULANCE

YBhg. Dato’/Datin/Prof./Dr./Sir/Madam,

We are pleased to inform you that the UPM Knowledge Waqf Trust Fund, managed by the Waqf, Zakat and Endowment Management Centre (WAZAN), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully distributed funds for several projects in the past year of 2025, including:

UPM Mosque PA System

The waqf campaign for the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Mosque Public Address (PA) system project was initiated on June 19, 2016, through the Launch of the Mosque Facility Waqf, aimed at covering the maintenance costs of the PA system for prayer facilities and educational activities at the UPM Mosque.

The waqf funds collected at that time were specifically intended to upgrade the old PA system to a new system valued at RM455,057.18.

This waqf-funded mosque PA system is not only utilized by the UPM community but also benefits the local community, the Seri Serdang congregation (kariah), and visitors to the UPM Mosque.

Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) Ambulance

The Waqf, Zakat and Endowment Management Centre (WAZAN) handed over a waqf ambulance to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) on July 28, 2025.

This RM499,900.00 project is a welfare waqf initiative resulting from a collaboration with Tabung Haji (TH), a major contributor to this ambulance waqf project. This project also serves as an essential waqf asset to be utilized by the UPM community and the general public, particularly patients in need.

WAZAN UPM invites YBhg. Dato’/Datin/Prof./Dr./Sir/Madam to continue making waqf contributions to the UPM Knowledge Waqf Fund so that the benefits of this waqf can continue to serve the ummah in the future.

Every waqf contribution is eligible for up to a 10% tax deduction from aggregate income under Subsection 44(11D), Income Tax Act 1967.
