From the total amount successfully collected in 2025, a sum of RM3.70 million was channelled to five main asnaf (zakat-eligible) categories among the UPM community. Students were the highest recipients of assistance with a total of RM1,968,342.24 (53.12%), followed by program assistance amounting to RM942,703.50 (19.9%), staff assistance at RM589,954.50 (15.89%), and university learning facilities (lecture rooms) assistance at RM200,000.00 (11.09%).

This distribution also involved specific asnaf categories, namely fakir (the hardcore poor) at RM602,566.00 (19.64%), miskin (the poor) at RM447,113.00 (14.57%), fisabilillah (those striving in the path of Allah) at RM1,890,901.92 (61.62%), ibnu sabil (stranded travellers) at RM5,159.00 (0.17%), and muallaf (new converts) at RM16,600.00 (0.54%). This proves that the assistance is distributed comprehensively and accurately to the truly eligible asnaf groups.

The distribution of this zakat assistance is further detailed by applications made through the eWAZAN Portal, which involved 1,772 applications. This includes 75 applications from PhD/Master's students, 1,497 applications from Bachelor's degree students, 174 applications from Diploma students, and 26 applications from Foundation students. In addition, the distribution of this assistance is broken down based on the number of students from various faculties and institutes (refer to data: Faculty Category).

In 2025 as well, WAZAN expanded its zakat distribution to the staff of UPM subsidiaries (UPM Holdings & Putra Business School) and Koperasi UPM Berhad (KUPUTRA) as recipients of zakat funds. Furthermore, zakat funds were extended to learning facility assistance (lecture rooms), specifically for the collaborative upgrading of the Smart Class Room at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences (FBSB) and the Smart Class Room at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSKTM).
