HEMODIALYSIS WAQF CONTRIBUTION TO ASSIST KIDNEY PATIENTS AT HSAAS UPM

UPM SERDANG - Universiti Putra Malaysia Holdings (UPMH) has made a waqf contribution amounting to RM120,000.00 aimed at assisting kidney patients.

This waqf contribution has been specifically named the Hemodialysis Machine Waqf (Wakaf Mesin Hemodialisis) and will be placed at the Putra Renal Intervention & Dialysis Centre (PRINCE), located at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) UPM.

This contribution is channeled through the UPM Knowledge Waqf Fund, managed by the Waqf, Zakat and Endowment Management Centre (WAZAN) via a special waqf project.

The handover of this Hemodialysis Waqf was presented by YBhg. Dato' Mohd Fauzi Ramlan, Chairman of UPMH, to His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj, the Sultan of Selangor and Chancellor of UPM.

According to YBhg. Dato' Fauzi Ramlan, "We fully support UPM's efforts in helping the UPM community and the general public in treating kidney patients, for which there is now an increasing demand," he said during the mock cheque presentation in conjunction with the Iftar (Breaking of Fast) Ceremony with HRH the Chancellor of UPM on Wednesday.

"Through the waqf initiative, we believe that every contribution given will provide continuous rewards (pahala) as long as it is utilized by patients in need, especially those who cannot afford to finance their treatments elsewhere," he added.

A total of 4 hemodialysis machines valued at RM120,000.00 will be placed at PRINCE.
