FREE MEAL CONTRIBUTIONS: A TESTAMENT OF CARE TOWARDS STUDENTS' COST OF LIVING ON CAMPUS

SERDANG – To safeguard student welfare and health during the final examination period, the Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Infaq (WAZAN) UPM, in strategic partnership with Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), distributed free meals through the Breakfast Dulu B4 Exam and Let's Lunch initiatives. The first phase of this distribution successfully took place throughout the first exam week, from July 7 to July 10, 2025.

Supporting Nutritional Well-being and Academic Focus Exam seasons often see students skipping meals or cutting back on food expenses to save money and gain study time. The implementation of this program delivers significant benefits across three key areas:

• Balanced Nutritional Support: Providing healthy breakfasts and lunches to ensure students maintain optimal energy and mental alertness while sitting for their papers.

• Alleviating Financial Burdens: Reducing daily out-of-pocket food expenditures, particularly for students from low-income (B40) and asnaf backgrounds.

• Fulfilling Corporate Trust: Realizing the noble intentions of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) in channeling dedicated free-meal CSR funds directly to university beneficiaries.

Continuity into the Second Exam Week The overwhelming response from students underscores the program's effectiveness in creating a caring campus environment that supports student well-being. To maintain this continuous care, the free meal distribution will resume during the second examination week, from July 14 to July 17, 2025.
