HSAAS UPM, July 28 - The funded HSAAS waqf ambulance can now benefit patients among the UPM community and the general public. The waqf project, which was launched back in 2023, was realized during the Symbolic Waqf Ambulance Handover Ceremony here today.

This ceremony follows the successful purchase of an ambulance through the Knowledge Waqf Fund (Dana Wakaf Ilmu) amounting to RM600,000, which was contributed by Lembaga Tabung Haji and other waqf donors.

The Waqf, Zakat and Endowment Management Centre (WAZAN), acting as the mutawalli (trustee) for the Selangor Waqf Corporation (PWS), is responsible for collecting, pooling, and distributing the funds for the benefit of the UPM community and patients in need. WAZAN successfully raised the funds to realize HSAAS's aspiration of acquiring an ambulance fully equipped with advanced medical facilities.

Among those present at this symbolic ceremony were the Head of Shariah of Lembaga Tabung Haji, the Director of WAZAN, the Chief Executive Officer of PWS, and the Social Services Manager of Lembaga Tabung Haji.

Lembaga Tabung Haji provided a waqf contribution worth RM400,000, and another RM200,000 was contributed by waqf donors through the UPM Knowledge Waqf Fund initiative specifically for the purchase of this ambulance. - WAZAN
