The University Health Center (PKU) in collaboration with the Centre for Management of Waqf, Zakat and Endowment (WAZAN) UPM invites the public and any companies and organizations to help raise funds of RM250,000.00 to finance the PKU special ambulance waqf project which can be channeled directly into the CIMB Islamic's account (UPM Dana Wakaf Ilmu). Account no: 8602-68-4995.
In addition, people can also perform waqf through an online payment gateway(mysadaqah.upm.edu.my) that will connect users with a variety of major banking institutions such as Maybank, CIMB, Islamic Bank, AmBank, RHB Bank and others.
To increase the convenience of the public to perform waqf, WAZAN in collaboration with IAT Sdn Bhd has developed easy-to-use crowdfunding applications to be downloaded into the smartphone via MySadaqahsearch on Google Play, Android or PlayStore which also connecting users with a variety of online banking system options.
The waqf project of PKU'S special ambulance and MySadaqah payment gateway application was launched by YB Dato Seri Idris Jusoh, Minister of Higher Education, in conjunction with WAZAN's Opening Ceremony on May 30, 2017.
According to Ustaz Nuruliman Ibrahim, the Head of Waqf Fund Management,WAZAN UPM, a group of working committee has been established to mobilize special PKU's ambulance campaign in a more structured and effective manner targeting six months to reach the required amount of funds. "With the help and support of all parties, I believe we are able to achieve the collection target more fast" he said.
"In 2013, the Secretariat of UPM's Waqf Fund has collected a donation of around RM190,000.00 to finance the purchase of a special vehicle for disabled people (OKU) within four months of the same concept, under the management of UPM's Student Affairs Division (BHEP)" he said again.
Head of PKU UPM, Dr. Hjh. Fauziah Adnan said that for this time, PKU only have 3 ambulances with less complete facilities and had been used for too long. She added, "This special ambulance is urgently needed to improve the services of PKU in fulfilling the needs of the community, especially in areas that are difficult to access by ordinary ambulance".
Dr. Hj Razali Othman, the Director of WAZAN UPM emphasizes that waqf donation is a jariah charity promised with a great and lasting reward.
"In addition, each contribution is also eligible for income tax relief under section 44 (6) of the Income Tax Act 1967 (Reference No.: LHDN.01 /35/42/5 /179-6, 1888) in the category of donations and gifts", he added.
